Brides and Grooms – Make Wedding Planning Less Stressful

Is there anything more stressful than planning a wedding? There probably is, but it won’t feel like it at the moment. At the moment, getting your wedding in shape is the most stressful thing in the world. And, that isn’t an over exaggeration. After all, there is a lot to get ready in such a short space of time. Plus, there is so much money involved. In the end, your wedding will be one of the greatest days of your life. The thing is, don’t you want to enjoy the build up, too? You don’t have to wait until you walk down the aisle because you can have fun planning the wedding. Yes, that sounds ridiculous now, but it isn’t with a few handy tips.

Have Perspective

The reason why wedding planning is so stressful is because you are in a bubble. You think that if anything goes wrong it will be the end of the world. Well, it won’t be the end of the world. Of course, it won’t be nice especially if you have put a lot of effort into the event. But, you’ll bounce back. I mean, really, will the wrong colour seat covers ruin the day? They won’t ruin the day, yet brides and grooms fuss over these relatively inconsequential details. Couples that understand the big and the small details are a lot more relaxed. And, when you are relaxed, you can enjoy the experience. In fact, you might find you even have a smile on your face on more than one occasion.

Involve Family & Friends

Two people in a room discussing the same thing can get monotonous. To be honest, it can make you want to kill the person sitting next to you regardless of whom they are. Too many couples have nearly had to call off the wedding because of an attempted murder case, and you don’t want to go down that route. The court fees alone will cost you a fortune. Joking aside, it is easy to lose your temper with your partner if you are the only two people in the decision making process. So, add more people to the process. Of course, they don’t have to make decisions, but you can ask for their opinion. Plus, it is just a good idea to have them in the room. Tasting wedding cake is bound to be a lot funnier with all of your friends and family as opposed to the bride and groom.

Get Creative

Creativity often inspires fun. When you think about the times you enjoyed the most there will have been a lot of creativity. The obvious thing to do, then, is to get creative with your wedding. How do you achieve this goal? Well, anyway you like. That’s the whole point of creativity! There is a great video of a wedding party dancing down the aisle at a wedding which you could copy. Or, you could make personalised invitations with notes for individual guests. Just take a look at Pure Invitation wedding invitations to see how personal you can make them. It is easy to go down the ‘classic’ route, and that could be the perfect option. Still, you don’t have to follow any particular rules. Remember: it’s your wedding so do as you please.

Game On

Let’s not pretend that you and your partner aren’t competitive. There is nothing better than beating them and that’s a fact. If you agree with this statement, it is time to get competitive with your wedding. Take the relatively small and mundane tasks and try and make them fun. For example, you can see who can write the most invites in an hour. The winner might get to choose which flowers you have at the main reception. It is amazing how much you will enjoy and look forward to the smaller tasks when you know what’s at stake. Even better, you’ll get through a lot more because the competition will make you more productive. That’s called killing two birds with one stone, and that’s another task done.

Reward Yourself

Have you done a lot today? More than expected? Good, then you deserve a treat. A treat can be anything from a day off from wedding planning to a nice meal with your partner. Positive conditioning is a good way to keep you on point, and it also gives you something to look forward to. The next time you have to go to the tailors, you can think about going for a drink afterwards and all the stress will float away.

Weddings are stressful, but they are also fun. At least, they can be fun if you keep these tips in mind.
