A Natural Way to Radiance

Its been only a few years that I have actually ventured in to experimenting with cosmetics. Having a sensitive skin, it was not an option to test out a lot of stuff anyway. I adhered to the safest way to address skin issues and maintain a healthy, glowing complexion; going natural all the way!

Growing up, I stuck to natural ingredients like turmeric, yogurt, garbanzo bean flour, cucumber, honey, holy basil, tomatoes and the like. They have been very helpful for my skin as it transitioned from my teenage skin to my twenties skin, diminishing all problems along the way.

Though these ingredients work best for me, it is not a “one size fits all” list of ingredients for DIY face packs. Like for instance, fruit pulp facials don’t suit me in spite of having all natural ingredients. Raw milk as a cleanser doesn’t suit me either. So, its better to try various combinations of natural stuff and come up with something that works well for you.

I have listed a few DIY face and hair masks that are my favorite. These are made from all natural products, are non-toxic, environment friendly, doesn’t harm animals and very inexpensive.

The Turmeric and Curd Face Mask

It essentially consists of garbanzo gram flour, fresh home-made curd, and preferably organically grown turmeric. Turmeric as an ingredient is a must for me, as both a spice and for the mask, as it heals the skin from inside and out. Its been known for ages for it’s incredible healing powers and anti microbial properties. Since tropical countries have their own set of microbial flora, nature has an ingredient that helps keep the deleterious effects in check.

The curd and turmeric face pack can be further tinkered with and modified. For instance, I’ve added a few drops of honey as a moisturizing element and replaced curd with cucumber or wood apple paste.

This is another simple DIY hair and face mask and cleanser or a super clear and radiant skin. It has cucumber and garbanzo gram flour with a pinch of turmeric in it.

The DIY natural solution is perfect for all seasons and all age groups and for all skin related concerns. You can concoct your own skin care formulations for different seasons based on what works best for your skin.

Its not always possible to go for home made stuff all the time, especially on a busy schedule or when you are travelling. So how do you make sure your skin is radiant and healthy without using harsh chemicals or cosmetics. This is where Vicco comes handy. It one of those brands that I remember from my childhood that has always been around. The “VICCO Turmeric Cream” has forever been a ‘go to’ solution full of natural ingredients and its been a part of my life since my  early teen years.

It is one of those products that you reach out to in times of need because you know it will deliver. In this era of stylish campaigns, uber-chic packaging and mind-blowing adverts of products racing against each other, you need to have something to fall back on; something to rely on and something that gives you a sense of comfort knowing it has always been there.

A perfect, cost effective alternative to DIY beauty regime lovers, a tube of Vicco is a solution* for a girl on the go without having to worry about losing her skin’s radiance or glow to a hectic schedule.

  1. 1. Fabulous! I am excited about this. I do not trust American products that claim to be all-natural.

    2. With Chinese import tariffs dropped to 2% for skincare products, could you find a market for these “non-luxury,” homemade recipes?

    1. I am glad you liked it 🙂 🙂

The ‘home-made’ stuff is in the market right now with incredible marketing and uber luxury tag attached to it..apparently a “luxury” tag and great packaging is required to compete with the mainstream and peddle stuff that you can anyway find around your kitchen.
